Private Treaty Sale Terms and Conditions

Sale Protocol

• Sale starts @ 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 24, 2026
• Preview of bulls @ 1:00 P.M.
• Sale price will be on an information sheet located on each pen.
• Your selections may be turned in to Becky Smith from 1:00–2:00 P.M.
• Selected bulls by one party are to be settled for and pick-up/delivery arrangements made.
• If any bull is selected by more than one party, there will be a tie breaker on that bull.
• The tie breaker is a bid-off starting a few minutes after the close of bids at 2:00 P.M. in $100 increments.
• The party that turned in their selection first starts the bid-off at the posted price. The second party may bid in $100 increments, and so on until one buyer remains.

Bid-Off Example

• Highest bidder gets the bull.
• Example: Lot X bull price $3,000. Two buyers select Lot X bull. The first buyer’s bid is $3,000. The second buyer may bid higher or let the first buyer purchase the bull. If the second buyer bids, the first buyer may raise again. This continues until bidding stops. Highest bidder gets the bull.
• Buyers may select an alternate bull in addition to your first choice in case you do not get your first choice.
• Same bid-off procedure applies to alternate bulls.
• Once bid-off is complete, you may select any remaining bulls at the listed price.
• Bulls not selected on sale day will be available for purchase private treaty at Cornerstone Ranch.

Terms

• Cash or check. Each lot sold to the highest bidder.
• All lots to be paid for during or shortly after the sale.
• Payment must be made before load-out.
• Animals will be at buyer’s risk immediately after settlement.
• Registration certificates will be transferred to the buyer at seller’s expense.

Liability

• All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk.
• Cornerstone Ranch LLC / Steve and Becky Smith Trust assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that may occur.

Guarantee

• All bulls have passed a Breeding Soundness Exam (BSE) and most are virgin bulls. Non-virgin bulls will be Trich tested negative and noted on the bull information sheet.
• Bulls are guaranteed for soundness to breed cattle for one breeding season (six months).
• This is not mortality insurance and does not apply to injuries, lack of care, accidents, acts of God, etc.
• If a licensed veterinarian determines a bull to be unsound for breeding within six months of purchase, we will exchange the bull or refund the sale price less salvage value.
• You must contact us prior to salvaging the bull.
